91AMERICAN JOYCarried outwards, tightened and steadied approaching the 600m.
103WITNESS IN COURTBumped outwards at the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Rider advised that in his opinion the gelding wasn’t suited to the increase in distance together with today’s track conditions.
116DEALINGA post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to have damaged part of its hoof wall due to casting its off for plate and to be lame in that leg. Trainer advised that it would now undergo x-rays to determine the reason for the lameness and he would the Stewards accordingly.
37CROSLEY HOTSHOTTrainer advised he will instruct for the gelding to lead if possible and this information was disseminated.
12SAXON SAXOFFIn relation to the apparent improved performance today Trainer advised that he instructed for the gelding to lead at its previous two starts however this was unable to be achieved given other runners had shown pace in these races. He further advised the gelding is one paced and runs its most competitive races when able to lead comfortably through the early and middle stages which was achieved today. Further he advised the gelding has derived natural fitness following its two previous starts this preparation and had been working well in the lead up to today’s event.
