116MIRACLE MANRider reported that in his opinion the gelding was not suited to the moderate pace of today’s race. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities but had returned having cast it near-fore plate.
107RED PADDY (NZ)Raced keenly through the early and middle stages and steadied when improving onto heels approaching the 1000m. Rider was questioned regarding the gelding racing back in the field and he advised that runners to his inside had shown greater pace and consequently he elected to steady his mount in an attempt to gain cover as he did not want to cover extra ground by racing wide throughout without cover and consequently got further back than anticipated. Trainer advised that as the gelding was dropping back in distance today and with runners to the inside expected to show pace he instructed Jockey A
18COUNT TOMOZ OFFRaced tightly and brushed with another runner when impeded from the 250m until gaining clear running approaching the 150m.
