1RUN LIAM RUNwas a late withdrawal by Stewards at 5.15 p.m. acting on veterinary advice when the gelding underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers at the request of its rider which revealed a laceration to its off hind pastern. Trainer was advised the gelding would require a Veterinary Certificate of Soundness prior to trialling or racing again.
23BINDAREE LADYBroke through its barrier gate after being loaded and after cantering a short distance was quickly restrained by its rider and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
15LONG KNIFEUnderwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival behind the barriers and was passed fit to start. Had a tendency to lay outwards throughout running. When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance, Trainer Mr D. Attwell advised that he attributed the improved performance of the gelding to the removal of the blinkers and earmuffs and that it was able to lead comfortably through the early and middle stages of the race and enjoy a more favourable run compared to its previous two runs of its current preparations.
79ROWIECommenced slowing losing one length.
